Rosanne Pugliese keeps the focus tightly on the aquamarine here, bezel-setting the oval stone in22K yellow gold with almost nothing to soften its saturated blue clarity. The restrained setting and slight irregularity of the stone give the necklace a cleaner, more grounded presence than a traditional solitaire pendant.

Her design inspiration is a translation from modern, clean lines and luxurious materials - developed while working for Calvin Klein - into a contemporary, minimal, sculptural interpretation hand-wrought in 22K gold. She creates her jewelry in her small Brooklyn workshop where each piece is painstakingly created by hand. Attention is given to fine detail, gentle finishing techniques and carefully selected gemstones. Rosanne uses only recycled gold.
