Blackened silver pendant necklace featuring a circular open-center design with a rugged, organic texture reminiscent of crystallized rock or lava formations. A single diamond accent is set into the lower edge of the pendant, creating a subtle contrast against the dark oxidized finish. Venice, CA - After a long, left-brained detour following her start as an art major, Michele Scholnick returned to design and found herself captivated by a wax as a sculpture medium. Her line, Branch, which today includes both fine jewelry and bronze decorative objects, is influenced by all things nature, from the pristine to the decayed, and is characterized in some instances by a soft minimalism, and in others, the use of painstakingly applied texture. Michele carves the pieces by hand, mostly in the middle of the night and with lots of help from her two dogs.
