Geode Tahitian Pearl and Black Diamond Earringslih-e1064
With an edgy, modern vibe and details which beg for a closer look, these little h earrings are a striking alternative to the traditional pearl drop. Inspired by the natural formation of geodes, the single luminous black Tahitian pearls are precisely cut in half and hollowed out. Nesting in the interior of each half is a textured setting of shimmering black diamonds. The drops hang from 14K white gold ear wires. Whether worn casually or with something more formal, they are a refreshing, innovative update on classic pearls.

Los Angeles, CA - Born in Japan and growing up between Tokyo and Los Angeles, Hisano Shepherd found her inspiration for jewelry at a young age. Inspired by the naturally formed crystal geodes sold in Tucson gem shows, Hisano began experimenting with slicing hollow, freshwater soufflé pearls. The resulting concave interior is the perfect housing for precious gemstones, resembling a naturally formed geode when set. Each piece is hand-created in her LA studio.
Jewelry ... can be collaboration of techniques, ideas, and materials that converge together to make different emotions and meanings. I strive to create beautiful wearable pieces that provoke wonderment, attraction, and disturbance."
