With its ethereal, earthy elegance, this one-of-a-kind Australian opal ring by Variance Objects has been hand-wrought in the designer's Santa Cruz studio. The nugget of shimmering, iridescent opal is asymmetrically cut with smooth, angular facets and jagged edges. It is held in place by a sculptural setting of 14K rose, white and yellow gold and attaches to the oxidized sterling silver band. Its modern, style-defining allure makes it a stunning addition to any casual, curated jewelry collection.

Variance Objects
SANTA CRUZ, CA - Nicole Rimedio creates jewelry that highlights the natural beauty of raw materials. Her jewelry shows the earth, fire, and hand that it came from. While she received her BA in Architecture and Urbanism from Smith College, and her master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from UC Berkeley, making jewelry has always been her path. Nicole founded Variance in 2013 with her partner Scott. Scott manages operations and Nicole is the artist. They both have a passion for gemstones and together they source fine gem specimens and rough rock from gem collectors and small scale miners.
