Los Angeles - After studying painting at the School of Visual Art, Kathryn Bentley realized she did not want to be a painter. Instead, she began working for a New York showroom and jewelry designer and found being around such creative forces gave her the inspiration to begin her own collection. In her spare time, she learned how to enamel, do beadwork, and metalsmith. Her first pieces were created during the beginning of the economic downturn and made from brass which was less expensive than gold. She soon moved to Los Angeles where her studio is now located.
